I was searching on Etsy for BJJ gift ideas when I came across one of the coolest accessories I’ve seen. It was for a BJJ belt keychain/wristlet. I was so excited that I decided to email the owner.

Note: If you want to order this year, you need to order by December 15!

Full disclosure: I was sent these products free of charge. I offered to do a review in exchange. This by no means colored my review, as I was really excited about them to begin with! It took a while for everything to come together because I am so super slow (we started talking last year!). They arrived last month, and I couldn’t be happier.

Packaging

The packaging looks professional. Each of them came in a plastic wrapper, and each had the seller’s tag. The tag says “Thank you” and indicates that it was handmade and can be bought on Etsy, and at http://bluebeltbaby.com/ and Facebook.

I was sent three - a blue, purple, and black.

Quality

It’s quite nice! You can see here that the stitching goes all the way through. The edge is tucked in, and there were no stray threads. It looks wonderfully professional, and the color matches my own belt. The purple is also spot on.

Note: I was using a full-spectrum light, and this photo doesn’t quite do it justice, but I wanted to show the stitching on the black.

I had to customize it! I added my four stripes. It was one large piece of tape that I cut into four pieces. That felt really exciting to me.

I LOVE THIS WRISTLET!

I LOVE THIS WRISTLET!

It fit comfortably around my wrist, and the fabric was soft, not scratchy. The clasp looks quite secure, too. My keys are fairly heavy because of my kubaton, but I don’t think this will stress the wristlet too much.

Good size and comfortable.

Overall, this is an awesome product, and I’m SO EXCITED to have it!

Who this is perfect for

This is absolutely perfect for anyone who carries keys, and folks who don’t mind rather large items attached to their keychain. This could also work VERY nicely attached to a backpack or a gym bag to show off your status.

About the seller

Strangely enough, Angela is from my hometown of Tacoma, Washington! She sells onsies for babies, many with BJJ themes, such as this ranked onesie.

She also sells cards like these:

I asked about her story, and this is what she told me:

As far as my etsy shop, it started out as a hobby. All of my items I have made like the cards, BJJ wristlet came about as something to do while I was out for injuries related to jiu jitsu. The majority of my jiu jitsu related prints were thought up when I was out on maternity leave. I have lots of other ideas in my head, but I don’t really have the time right now to create new prints because I do work nearly full time and I also have my hands full with an almost 3 year old and an almost 1 year old.

My prints are used with an actual screen and ink so the prints will not fade or peel. Luckily, I have an awesome husband (who is a purple belt) who watches the kids in the evenings and does the majority of the cooking and housework while I work my second job in the basement. I’m a one person operation, but my husband does help with delivering the items to the post office.

In all this madness we still try to make it to the gym at least once a week.

I just saw on Angela’s website that she’s closing orders for Christmas on the 15th! If you want to order this for the BJJ love of your life (yourself included), go there TODAY!!! Be sure to “like” her Facebook page, and if you order, please let her know you read about her on jiujiubjj.com!

A HUGE thank you to Angela for the wonderful product. I will DEFINITELY be buying more in the future, both for myself and others!
