When we last saw our tragic heroine, she had left Korea to be with her One True Love in Virginia. She arrived on the shores of the DC of Washington, met by her balded lover. They embraced, ate pizza, and went to their new home.

After a steady stream of bon-bons, Bioshock II, and jiu jitsu, our heroine was as yet unfulfilled. She had no means of employment. She was about to become a leach on society.

To her delight, she received by carrier pigeon wonderful news! She was to become Manager of Operations at Jiu Jitsu Institute, and a coach for the beginners class twice per week!

Huzzah! What fun! Much rejoicing was had!

Yes, it’s true, I am now gainfully employed. I am working at Jiu Jitsu Institute. Twice a week I am coaching the absolute beginners. I’ll be writing more about that this month because it’s a goldmine of topics for me!

One of the things I’m very excited about is that this is a Saulo Ribeiro affiliated school, and as you may remember, I’m crazy about Saulo! Ben Eaton is someone who I respect a lot – both as a person, instructor, and business owner. I think he has made some sound decisions about teaching, and I’m really excited to write about my perspective on it. His vision for teaching and mine align well.

No, I’m not teaching English or ESL, but I am teaching a second language for the body, I’m still using my classroom skills, and I’m still being a teacher. I’m marrying a military guy, which means I will be traveling around the world, and very likely I will get an ESL job at our next station.

I am so thankful to Mr. Jiu Jiu for keeping me rolling in bon-bons and supporting me. A huge thank you to Heidi and Ben for this opportunity, thank you to Mike for your help, and a hello to my fellow students at Jiu Jitsu Institute! I’m so excited to be working with you all!

Jiu Jiu’s Question: Anything exciting happen to you this week or last week? Share share share, and let’s all be happy with/for one another!
