Gentle reader, I just know that you have been eagerly going to my site every day to find out if I have updated, holding your breath in anticipation as you think about what topic I might talk about this time. And yet each time you are sorely disappointed. I know that you must be sitting at home fretting, sad and angry that my blog has remained neglected. I know that you must be worried about me, thinking I must clearly have been in some accident where both my hands and feet were hacked off, rendering keyboards useless to me. Or perhaps I was struck in the head and the language centers in my brain were damaged, and now the only word I can say is “cucumber,” except that it’s clear that “cucumber” has no real meaning for me and is used more as an interjection or as a complete sentence than to refer to a vegetable that is delicious in salads.
Never fear, gentle reader, for I am fine. None of these horrible scenarios took place. However, my stress levels are a bit high, and my elbow is still recovering. Yes, I am preparing to go on my West Coast Tour in America.
Also, I have a brand new niece. I will post pictures as soon as I get them. Here’s the older one:
I have had to deal with all sorts of small, last minute details, such as FINALLY getting my coat re-lined, picking up more cat food at the vet, buying presents for my nieces, doing a whole bunch of work crap, getting my hair cut, visiting some friends, etc. Also I’m still injured–but not the brain damage scenario–just my elbow.
I’m actually feeling a bit overwhelmed. In some ways I hate leaving my home. I’m nervous I’ll forget SOMETHING or not have everything finished. To do: pick up gi from tailor, get jeans hemmed, buy blonde wig, buy red wig, buy blue felt, cut out stars, connect stars to jeans, sew gold ribbon to red shirt, buy cat food, buy litter, drop off cat at friends, download and print directions to all the BJJ schools (stresser, this one!), contact friends for a Sunday dinner in Tacoma, stick all my stuff in my suitcases to make sure they aren’t over weight, call the airline to make sure I really do have 2 bags allowed, possibly ship home some stuff I don’t want to keep here, remove the first Harry Potter audiobook from the iPod since I just finished it and add another Harry Potter audiobook to it, buy some gifts for my nieces, pick up coat & new shirt from tailor, ummm am I forgetting anything? Argh.
To make this post BJJ related. Please indicate which of the following YOU are:
Right now I feel like I’m the “Always Injured” member of the gym. I DEFINITELY know who the sweat factory is, I have a crush on the “Sick Takedowns” guy in my gym, and I think the “unpassable guard” guy at my gym is a bit of a cucumber 🙂
Who are you?
